Ellen Greenberg

US Attorneys Finally Reopening Ludicrous Josh Shapiro Case of the Woman With the 20-Stab-Wound “Suicide”

by Tanya Stoyanovich
January 14, 2026

The long-dormant case of Ellen Greenberg, a 27-year-old Philadelphia teacher found dead in her apartment with 20 stab wounds back in 2011, has taken a dramatic turn. Sources close to the matter revealed that the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has stepped in, requesting documents from the Philadelphia Police Department and other agencies. This federal interest comes after years of controversy surrounding the official ruling of suicide, a conclusion that has baffled experts, investigators, and the public alike.

Greenberg was discovered by her fiancé, Sam Goldberg, slumped on the kitchen floor with a 10-inch knife protruding from her chest. Ten of the wounds were to the back of her neck and the base of her skull, wounds that many argue would be nearly impossible to self-inflict with such force and precision. The initial medical examiner, Marlon Osbourne, first classified her death as a homicide, only to reverse it to suicide weeks later amid pressure from police investigators who deemed the scene suspicious but ultimately pointed to self-harm.

  • Be Prepared: Make your emergency Med prep plan complete. Emergencies aren’t one-size-fits-all.

Her parents, Joshua and Sandee Greenberg, have relentlessly pursued justice, filing lawsuits against the city and accusing officials of a deliberate cover-up to mask a flawed homicide probe. They settled with Philadelphia in early 2025 for $650,000, part of which included a promise for an independent review by a new medical examiner. Yet, that October report once again affirmed suicide, prompting fresh outrage.

“I think all those wounds … were a cover up for strangulation,” Joshua Greenberg told reporters, suggesting his daughter may have been manually choked before the stabbings were staged to obscure the truth.

Adding layers to the intrigue, a psychiatrist who treated Ellen shortly before her death noted bruises consistent with domestic abuse and explicitly stated she showed no signs of being suicidal. One wound was even inflicted post-mortem, according to some analyses, raising the specter of tampering. Former Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney Guy D’Andrea, who reviewed the case, has gone on record calling it a clear homicide, pointing to evidence that her body may have been repositioned after death.

The case gained renewed scrutiny during the 2024 election cycle when Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, then the state’s attorney general, was eyed as a potential vice-presidential pick for Kamala Harris. Shapiro’s office had backed the suicide ruling and later transferred the investigation to Chester County due to apparent conflicts of interest—ties between Shapiro and relatives of Goldberg, including the fiancé’s uncle who allegedly took possession of Ellen’s electronics, breaking the chain of custody. Police forensics on her computers found no searches related to suicide, contradicting claims used to justify the ruling.

Online forums and true crime communities buzz with theories that Goldberg, whose 911 call and angry texts to Ellen while “locked out” of the apartment have raised red flags, may have orchestrated the scene. He insisted on her mental illness as the cause, but the locked door from the inside and lack of defensive wounds suggest a possible staging to deflect suspicion. Critics argue the quick cleanup of the crime scene and release of items to family members reeks of obstruction.

This federal involvement could finally peel back the veil on what many see as a tangled web of incompetence or worse—deliberate suppression by powerful figures in Pennsylvania’s justice system. As Governor Shapiro launches his 2026 re-election bid, the timing invites questions about accountability in a state where trust in institutions has eroded. The Greenbergs’ fight echoes a broader call for truth, reminding us that justice delayed often feels like justice denied, especially when lives hang in the balance.

For years, the official narrative has clashed with physical evidence that defies common sense. Simple anatomy tests, as demonstrated by death investigators, show the improbability of self-inflicting wounds to the back of the head and neck. If this probe uncovers foul play, it might expose not just a killer, but a systemic failure where connections trump facts. In a world where darkness sometimes overshadows light, pursuing righteousness in cases like this honors the command to seek justice and love mercy.

Of course Trump ‘s administration would reopen an old case of a dead woman named Greenberg . Odds are she is a Jew and Trump literally bends over and grabs his ankles for Jews.

Meanwhile Michael Byrd is free after killing a Christian military vet named Ashley Babbitt. Trump campaigned in getting her justice . He is not reopening her murder.

I regret voting for Trump in 2024. He turned MAGA into MIGA.

All my life I voted straight Republican on my ballot. Bush was a huge disappointment but I believed Trump. I should not have in 2024 because he was bought by Adelson $231 mil and AIPAC $230 mil etc.

I look forward to seeing the republicans lose in 2026 and 2028 because I have been black pilled. I am voting 3rd party every time I see a GOP candidate on my ballot who touched that wall or took that money or who admit they are MIGA which is all GOP except Massie and FL candidate Fishback.

I vote in every election without fail. I don’t care about parties any more. Both drag us into wars like Trump is now and both take our money and give it to Israel and other countries. Grab the popcorn because when Dems win they will impeach Trump again and do at least some things their base wants even if their presidents too grab their ankles for Israel.

Yes, it’s because she’s jewish, That must be it…. or maybe this is just the chosen case to pull back the curtain that certain “suicides” are not what they seem. You have to remember this one doesn’t have a last name of Clinton after it so it would be very odd if they got involved directly or indirectly with their lawyers. Once pulled back with a conviction that opens the door to other suicides, especially of the arkancide variety.

And also to the mods who must approve, I see what you are doing as you have done it twice now for completely normal, free speech. You can’t gatekeep like legacy media and expect to have my or really anyone on the right’s respect spare maybe people that read stormfront unironically. So do what you know is right and approve this. You can delete this little side message.

It seems to me that Greenberg and Goldberg are both likely Jewish but of different colors(green versus gold). So I don’t see how any Trump bias that favors or disfavors the jewish community could make any difference.
That there have been two investigations that concluded suicide thus there is certainly support for reasonable doubt so any unbiased jury would have to rule not-guilty via reasonable doubt. Bringing this to a jury even if they rule not-guilty is still not going to satisfy those pushing for an arrest. But it will certainly deliver a punishment to a likely innocent man bankrupted and destroyed by such a trial. Ask Danial Penny.

Shapiro is desperately seeking higher office as evidenced by his current online “campaign” jovially asking for a dollar. How cute! Who wouldn’t vote for such a fun-loving guy? First he tried playing the victim ( the mysterious attack on the governor’s mansion by a supposed drug crazed attacker), but that hasn’t gotten him much mileage, so he regularly attacks the president looking for that big PR boost to drop in his lap. He’s constantly pandering to the high-population eastern part of the state with his latest example of malfeasance in taking $220 million earmarked for rural state roads and handing it to the SouthEastern PA Transit Authority (SEPTA) leaving us bumpkins with potholed roads. The press gave him a pass for that one, but we haven’t forgotten.

Her parents have been relentless in their efforts to get justice for their daughter. Hopefully, a new investigation will not reach such asinine conclusions, as the previous one. Two of the major factors in determining suicide were 1) no defense wounds, 2) the security latch was over the door bar (the type on hotel rooms) A surprise attack from behind or initial knockout blow = no defensive wounds, 2) given a thin wire or other flexible material, the security latch could be pulled over the bar from outside OR as one of the attorneys noted, a hard slam of the door could have engaged it, as the attorney had witnessed in her own environs.
All evidence pointing to murder was ignored: gash to back of head, slashed spinal cord, numerous back wounds, re-positioning of body…

Yeah, wtf really happened in Butler we still don’t have proof of. (Which is – the Swamp arranged lax control knowing full well about Crouch as a potential threat; then killed him after local police destroyed his weapon.)

This RIDICULOUS investigation outcome should take down not just Shapiro – he can’t fucking recuse himself ESPECIALLY when the murderer is his relative! – but everyone who played along to prevent Republicans using this against Shapiro. (You know what would have helped more: going after your fucking cousin or whatever that murdered the girl.)
