Fifty-two percent. Let that sink in.
A fresh Fox News poll reveals that a majority of Democrats now hold a favorable view of socialism. Not a fringe faction. Not the campus radicals. A straight majority of the people who make up one of America’s two major political parties look at the ideology that starved millions, built walls topped with barbed wire, and declared war on God—and they say, “Yeah, that looks pretty good.”
Outside the Democratic bubble, the numbers tell a completely different story. Only 17 percent of independents give socialism a thumbs-up. Seventy-seven percent reject it. Republicans? Forget about it. The gap is a canyon.
Even NBC’s Steve Kornacki had to admit the obvious on air: among Democrats a majority likes socialism, but step outside the party and it’s a totally different world. The same poll shows the rest of the country still understands what history already proved at the cost of tens of millions of lives.
CNN, of course, tried to soft-pedal the whole thing. They waved around a Gallup survey and claimed the shift is only “modest.” That Gallup data actually showed 66 percent of Democrats holding a positive view of socialism. Sixty-six. Some modest improvement.
This is not an abstract debate over economic theory. The people driving the Democratic Party right now wear the socialist label proudly. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialists of America member, sits in Gracie Mansion. Figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Abdul El-Sayed keep climbing. Their candidates keep winning primaries. The party’s future is not Bill Clinton’s triangulation. It is open embrace of an ideology that has failed every place it has been tried hard enough.
President Trump has been saying it for months. Socialism is evil. It is disastrous for the United States and for Christianity. He has called out the “godless communists” who treat faith itself as the enemy, warning they will turn cities into slums while attacking religion. History backs him up. Every serious socialist regime has tried to erase the church, seize the private property of ordinary people, and replace individual responsibility with state control. The results are always the same: shortages, secret police, and mass graves.
Scripture saw this coming long before Marx put pen to paper. “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” That is 2 Thessalonians 3:10. The Bible does not teach envy dressed up as compassion. It teaches personal responsibility, honest labor, and liberty under God. Socialism offers the opposite: coercion, dependence, and the worship of the state.
The media and the academic class will keep pretending this is just “democratic socialism” or “a better distribution of wealth.” They will ignore Venezuela, Cuba, the Soviet Union, and every other real-world experiment. They will lecture ordinary Americans about fairness while living in neighborhoods where socialism never actually arrives.
Independents already see through it. Most of the country still does. The question is whether enough Democrats will wake up before their party finishes transforming itself into something the Founders would have recognized as a mortal threat to the republic they built. The numbers say the transformation is already well underway.
