Meanwhile, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has doubled down on sanctuary policies, signing an executive order last weekend that prohibits local law enforcement from wearing face masks and bars cooperation with ICE without a criminal warrant.
Defiant in the face of federal pressure, Johnson urged residents to proceed with celebrations: “Why would I ask you to stay home? Why would we allow someone who is auditioning to become a dictator of democracy to intimidate the soul of America, the city of Chicago? We should celebrate.”
The resistance extends beyond words. Protests are gearing up, with hundreds of residents planning to rally downtown at the first hint of raids, and metal barricades already in place around key areas.
In D.C., where similar operations are underway, Attorney General Brian Schwalb has sued over the troop deployment, declaring, “No American jurisdiction should be involuntarily subjected to military occupation.”

Almost every other country in the world enforces their immigration laws strictly. Foreigners must comply with the country’s laws or they are imprisoned and/or deported swiftly. The US is an exception, as well as unfortunately some countries in Europe which are going to heck in a handbasket at an ever-increasing pace – they will be us in the future if we don’t get a handle on the problem. Fortunately for our country President Trump is up to the task!
There is a metaphor used in explaining family dynamics that somewhat fits this situation. The members of a family unit are like a wind chime, each clanging metal cymbal suspended in its designated space to clang appropriately as the wind blows. If you reach up and pull one suspended cymbal down and out of its designated space, it forces all the rest of the cymbals to also change positions. And the only way the other cymbals can get back to their comfort position is by forcing the moved cymbal back into place. The point being, when one member of a dysfunctional family tries to take a different position, all the rest will do all they can to force them back into the dysfunctional role. This metaphor also works with cultural and governmental dynamics. MAGA and Trump (separate but equal powers) took hold of the Presidential cymbal and yanked it out of position.
Now the old guard GOP and the Left are left dangling in a new and uncomfortable position. They have lost their locked-in power. They are confused and angry. They make fools of themselves. They try to force Trump and MAGA to let go using the same old tricks…name calling (racist, fascist, white supremacist), propaganda pretending to be news, insider sabotage, and their biggest ball bat…the shame game. Name calling now gets eye rolls, fake news media is a source of ridicule, saboteurs are being fired, and the shame game gets no traction. Example: “LEFT: You horrible people are dividing families, you haters.” OLD CONSERVATIVES RESPONSE: “please forgive us. We will repent.” NEW MAGA RESPONSE: “So? Then deport them, too.” In short, nothing that the left used to do to control a compassionate and law abiding right is working now…and the Left doesn’t know whether to poop or go blind.
