DoJ Asks Ghislaine Maxwell to Meet With Them

by Discern Reporter
July 22, 2025

Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed on Tuesday that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will engage with Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her involvement in sexually exploiting and abusing multiple underage girls over more than a decade.

Bondi emphasized, “This Department of Justice does not shy away from uncomfortable truths, nor from the responsibility to pursue justice wherever the facts may lead.” She referenced a joint statement issued by the DOJ and FBI on July 6, which concluded that a comprehensive review of the FBI’s Epstein case files revealed no evidence warranting investigations into uncharged third parties.

Bondi highlighted that President Trump has directed the release of all credible evidence related to the case. She added that if Maxwell possesses information regarding crimes committed against victims, the FBI and DOJ are prepared to listen.

Justice demands courage. For the first time, the Department of Justice is reaching out to Ghislaine Maxwell to ask: what do you know? At @AGPamBondi’s direction, I’ve contacted her counsel. I intend to meet with her soon. No one is above the law—and no lead is off-limits. https://t.co/3IZh9viI7i

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has already contacted Maxwell’s legal team to gauge her interest in speaking with prosecutors, with a meeting expected in the near future.

Blanche stated, “For the first time, the Department of Justice is reaching out to Ghislaine Maxwell to ask: what do you know?”

He further affirmed that no individual is above the law and that all potential leads will be pursued under Bondi’s guidance.

Maxwell commenced her prison term in 2022, three years following Epstein’s death in custody while awaiting trial on comparable charges. To date, she remains the sole individual prosecuted in connection with what many view as an extensive underage sex trafficking operation catering to influential figures.

During his presidential campaign, Trump pledged to declassify the Epstein files, but efforts since his inauguration have encountered setbacks. Bondi initially advocated strongly for their release, yet in April, FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino publicly declared that Epstein’s death was a suicide, amid ongoing skepticism. A July memo later indicated no additional files were available for disclosure, prompting criticism from those seeking greater transparency.

Maxwell is actively pursuing a retrial, though the DOJ maintains there are no grounds for such proceedings. Meanwhile, congressional members have extended an invitation for her to testify before them.
