Update: Scott Adams has died from stage 4 prostate cancer at the age of 68. It was revealed he had entered hospice care yesterday.

Scott Adams has passed away after a long battle with prostate cancer.

Shortly before he passed, Adams announced he was giving his life to Christ and converting to Christianity.

According to Jack Posobiec, his last statement was that he accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and that he devoted his final days to being useful for others.

Original Story: Scott Adams, the mind behind the iconic Dilbert comic strip, has entered hospice care at his Northern California home, facing what his ex-wife describes as his final days amid a grueling battle with prostate cancer.

Shelly Miles, who was married to Adams from 2006 to 2014, shared the update with TMZ, explaining that his condition deteriorated sharply last week, prompting around-the-clock nursing support. Family members, including Miles, her sister, and Adams’ stepdaughter Savannah, have stepped in to help during this time.

Adams first revealed his Stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis publicly in May 2025, after keeping it private for some time. The disease had already spread to his bones by then, and despite treatment, his health continued to decline.

In a podcast episode of “Real Coffee with Scott Adams” on January 1, he laid out the stark reality: “I talked to my radiologist yesterday, and it’s all bad news — the odds of me recovering are essentially zero.” He went on to detail complications like heart failure impacting his breathing and permanent loss of feeling in his legs, calling January a “month of transition.”

Even in his weakened state, Adams has kept up with his work, drawing new comics and recording podcasts to stay engaged with the world. He mentioned that global events still capture his interest, despite his personal struggles overshadowing everything else. This persistence reflects the drive that made him a household name through Dilbert, which he launched in 1989. The strip’s sharp satire on office life and corporate absurdities resonated with millions, turning everyday frustrations into relatable humor.

Adams’ career took a hit in 2023 when dozens of newspapers dropped Dilbert following his podcast remarks labeling black people as a “hate group” and advising white people to distance themselves. The backlash was swift, with over 80 outlets pulling the strip, but Adams stood firm, continuing his commentary on cultural and political issues. To some, this episode exposed the intolerance of mainstream media toward dissenting voices, especially those challenging narratives on race and identity.

Recent reports indicate Adams has turned to faith amid his ordeal. Just days ago, he announced plans to convert to Christianity, crediting friends who shared their beliefs with him during his illness. Sources close to him say these conversations opened his eyes, shifting his long-held skepticism about organized religion. This spiritual pivot comes at a moment of personal crisis, offering solace as he confronts mortality.

Prostate cancer remains a silent threat for many men, often detected too late when it’s already advanced. Adams’ case serves as a reminder of the importance of regular screenings, particularly for those over 50. Medical experts note that while treatments have improved, metastatic cases like his carry grim prognoses, with survival rates dropping significantly once the cancer spreads.

Speculation has swirled online about whether the stress from his public controversies accelerated his decline. Some point to the relentless attacks he endured after 2023, suggesting that the emotional toll of cancellation culture could exacerbate health issues. While no direct evidence links the two, it’s hard to ignore how constant scrutiny might wear down even the toughest individuals.

As Adams spends his remaining time surrounded by loved ones, his legacy endures through Dilbert’s timeless wit and his willingness to speak uncomfortable truths. For those who followed his journey, from cartoonist to cultural commentator, his story prompts reflection on forgiveness and redemption. In the words of Scripture, “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14), a fitting meditation on the fleeting nature of our days.

Prayers and well-wishes have poured in from fans and fellow creators, with many on social media urging others to lift him up in this hour. Whether through his humor or his recent embrace of faith, Adams leaves behind a testament to living boldly, even to the end.

LOTS of people come to Jesus on their own. There are precious few trustworthy pastors or churches now,, as we approach the End. God influences people and guides them to the truth. My experience is that as I was wandering around the grounds at midnight at the Hemisfair in San Antonio, Tx, in 1968, only a few pavilions were still open. I was drawn to one called ALIVE! It seemed totally random, as I was bored. But they showed me the Jesus film. After wards while leaving, an attendant asked me about what I thought, and I said well I already go to a church. But he asked me to pray with him, and I repented then and there. I had an out of body (felt like it anyway) experience that I never had before or since. All my problems were lifted off my shoulders, and I felt like I was floating. For years after I drifted looking for that experience again, because I didn’t read the Bible. Then I found a Bible church where they taught me how to read God’s Word. Since getting to know Jesus through His Word, I”ve become a steadfast Christian. After being burned by several worldly churches, my wife and I enjoy daily devotions with Christ, reading His Word. I live in a nest of lost Catholics and we’ve become socially isolated, but we witness to them when we can, and keep our faith alive by devotions and private giving. It’s tough but staying with the Lord is rough. “Remember, they hate me first.’ Persecution by neglect and insult is still persecution.

Jesus is the ‘righteousness’ of all those that accept His covering. No man is righteous on their own.

I pray he converted in time. There is no switching sides on the other side. God speed. “ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15

I enjoyed Dilbert and Scott seemed to be a good guy from all I can see. But the last minute conversion and the publicizing of it seem like one of his Dilbert jokes.

I’ll bet he just “converted” to get all the Christian pests to stop bugging him. In any case, it doesn’t matter. When you die, that’s it. You’re dead. Nothing. Nada. The stories about heaven and sitting for eternity and adoring god are just made-up fairy tales. And what person in their right mind would want to be doing that for the rest of eternity. Sounds more like a good description of hell. Like, boring!!!

Our God, who created the universe, humans, and all creatures, has the power and imagination beyond anything we can comprehend, to make heaven glorious for us and our loved ones. Scripture is being proven true more each day through science, archeology, history, and prophecy. With the advancements of science, there are many asking the question, “How did God know that?”. For instance, God told the Hebrews to circumcise their male babies on the 8th day. We now know that the body releases mega amounts of vitamin K, a coagulant, on the 8th day. God told the Hebrews to sow crops for 6 years, then rest the land in the 7th year. We now know that when weeds grow, their roots are so deep that it brings up minerals from below, and when fruit from bushes and trees are allowed to rot it produces compost, a fertilizer. In the Book of Job, God tells him how He connected Pleiades and Orion, and reveals the designs, strengths, and weaknesses of animals/fowl that He created. God told Noah how to build the Ark, and shipbuilders after knew that a sea-worthy vessel must be the length six times the width. If you’re into science, there is so much info out there. Compare it with scripture, and you will be amazed. Also, Christ’s death and resurrection is one of the most personally witnessed, documented, events in history. I pray you will be curious about God and discover the truth in scripture. God Bless you.

Okay Dave, so tell us why you expect others to convince you that everything didn’t create itself from nothing.

Btw, when did you decide that you factually know that there is no Creator? 🤔

I wouldn’t encourage anyone to wait until the last minute to accept Christ as your Savior, because we don’t know when that last minute will be. I’ll trust that Scott was genuine in his faith and leave the rest up to Jesus. I have far more to be concerned about in my own repentance than to bloviate about whether Scott is in heaven or not. Jesus knows, and has told the rest of us through His Word how to get there. We should let Scott’s family grieve and focus on our own spiritual concerns, for the days are short and getting shorter by the minute.
Luke 23:39-43 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. ”
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

No intellectually honest atheist can claim with 100% certainty that there is no god. To do so is to essentially claim to be omniscient. at least on this subject matter.

As a life long atheist I KNOW the is no god, no afterlife, none of the trappings. But at the core of that “knowledge” I MUST admit that in fact, I do not KNOW. I’m pretty darned sure but I cannot state it with utter certainty. Because I am honest.

To my fellows; don’t be militant, don’t be part of the Westboro Atheist Chapter. Live and let live.

Of course one can know with absolute certainty that the Christian concept of God cannot exist because it is self-contradictory in several aspects. Contradictions cannot exist in reality, so God cannot exist, period. I don’t claim to know everything (omniscience) but any honest and rational person will admit that what I wrote above is beyond dispute.

Dave, your vacuous rhetoric is only outdone by the arrogance with which you express it.

Andylit already described the dishonesty and hubris of most atheists and you arrived to be an example for him. Thank you for proving his point. 👏🏻
