(ABC7Chicago)—As President Donald Trump mulls over his decision for the United States to get involved militarily in Iran, Chicago veterans weighed in on whether or not it’s a good idea.
While the veterans voiced their concerns to ABC7, a group of advocates for peace in Iran held a protest downtown Chicago’s Daley Plaza on Thursday.
The group of protesters hope their pleas reach the White House as the president grapples with America’s next step.
“The efforts of the Iranian people over the years have aimed at the Islamic regime and bringing Ali Khameini and his terrorist commanders justice, a path the people of Iran could achieve through a civil and conscious revolution not by the plowing of our homeland,” said a protest leader.
As the conflict Israel and Iran continues, there is ambivalence among Chicago veterans of tours in Iraq.
