(Red State)—July 4th was a true study in contrasts.
You had Americans celebrating the holiday across the country.
President Donald Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill” and saluted the military in an amazing event on the South Lawn at the White House. It was quite something, and it looked to me like the First Lady was visibly moved.

If you think about what the president and Melania have been through–to be able to stand there together and hold such an event–it’s easy to see why she might be so affected.
Meanwhile, what was the left doing? There were supposed to be protests across the country as they tried to replay their “No Kings 2.0” effort. How did those go? Well, it didn’t look like many turned out, if Los Angeles is an example. And they probably had more than other places. Compared to prior weeks, there were fewer turning out, in my opinion. Fox 11 also noted the crowd was smaller than they had seen in the past.
