President Trump is done with the games. On Tuesday he made it plain: the United States is going after Iran’s heavily fortified Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site, and it’s going to happen “pretty soon” and “very heavily.”
That mountain complex near Natanz sits buried under 80 to 100 meters of granite. Intelligence reports say the regime has already moved advanced centrifuges and enriched material there after earlier strikes on sites like Fordow.
Trump was asked about those reports while meeting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House. His answer was blunt. The United States is “not finished at all” with Iran. The centrifuges alone will not let them rebuild a nuclear program, he said, but the site itself is now a target.
This is not rhetoric. American blood is already on the ground because of Iranian aggression. Sergeant Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was killed July 19 at Erbil Air Base in Iraq while conducting a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. He leaves behind his wife Mia, a six-year-old son, and a four-year-old daughter.
The Army will promote him posthumously to staff sergeant and award him the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Action Badge. He is the latest American service member cut down by the regime’s drones and proxies in this escalating fight.
Trump has repeatedly said he has no interest in meeting Iranian leaders unless the conversation is “meaningful.” Translation: no more photo-ops, no more paper promises the mullahs will break the moment the cameras leave.
The regime that chants “Death to America,” funds terror across the region, and keeps trying to crawl back toward a nuclear weapon does not get the benefit of the doubt. History has already shown what happens when Western leaders treat the Islamic Republic like a normal country. It gets more money, more time, and more dead Americans.
The president’s message is simple and biblical in its clarity. Evil regimes that murder their own people, export chaos, and chase weapons of mass destruction understand only strength. Scripture does not pretend otherwise. Psalm 144:1 declares, “Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.”
The governing authority bears the sword for a reason. When that authority refuses to use it against those who threaten the innocent, the innocent pay the price.
Iran’s military commanders are already threatening to expand the war and hit American and allied interests if their nuclear sites are struck. That is the same regime that has spent decades proving it means every threat it makes. Trump is answering them the only way that has ever worked: by preparing to hit the very places they think are safe.
Americans should not be surprised when the left and the foreign-policy blob start fretting about “escalation.” They fretted the same way when the previous administration’s weakness invited attack after attack. Real leadership does not measure success by how long it can delay confrontation with a regime that has already declared war on us. It measures success by whether that regime is denied the means to kill on a far larger scale.
Pickaxe Mountain will not stay buried forever. Trump has put the regime on notice. The only question left is whether the United States will finish the job this time, or whether another generation of American soldiers will be left cleaning up the consequences of hesitation.
